GOLDEN GOAT SHORT FILM COMPETITION 2013 Short-Film Competition promoted by Vétérinaires Sans Frontières
VSF supports small scale livestock farming and the film competition should highlight this topic in all or some of its features. Livestock is claimed to be responsible for 18% of global greenhouse gas emissions, the most important cause of climate change (global warming). At the same time, 70% of the world’s poors depend on animal rearing for their livelihoods. Livestock provides food, manure to fertilize crops, traction to work the land, and assure very important additional revenue. For some 600 million people, mainly pastoralists, livestock is the only way to assure their livelihoods.
The main objective of this short film competition is to spread the VSF message concerning small scale livestock farming and climate change to the wide public through film that effectively convey the messages.
