Aging Together
... is a project of financial support of veterinary care for dogs and cats owned by financially and/or socially disadvantaged elderly people.
Scientific studies showed that owning a dog or cat can significantly improve quality of life. So it is not surprising that many elderly people own a pet. Unfortunately, the pets, same as their owners, can have various medical conditions that require professional help from a veterinarian. In some cases, even if the owner would like to provide his furry partner with everything he/she needs, he/she can't afford to pay for the veterinary care.
Thanks to Alena Mikes Memorial Foundation donation mediated by VSF Canada we now have means to help in such cases. If their dog or cat requires veterinary intervention, elderly pet owners who qualify as "in social and/or financial need" may apply with their case to our organization by phone or email. We can help by covering the expenses partially or completely based on the severity of the case.
