Few words of introOn behalf of Vétérinaries sans Frontières Czech Republic (VSF-cz), the University of Agricultural Sciences and Veterinary Medicine of Cluj-Napoca (USAMVCN), the Heritage Somaliland foundation, the Cheetah Conservation Fund (CCF), and the University of Hargeisa College of Agriculture and Veterinary Medicine (UOH), we want to thank you for your interest to join us in support of our efforts to promote working with wildlife and basic veterinary care in Somaliland.
The volunteer program you are interested in was iniciated by VSF-cz in order to promote working with wildlife, including basic veterinary care. Seeing the need of improving knowledge in these areas, we joined forces with UH, HS and CCF, HS and CCF’s experience in caring for confiscated cheetahs. The collective knowledge and capabilities of our four institutions will enable students and volunteers to become immersed in wild animal care.
For whom is this?Optimal candidates for volunteer programs are veterinarians and/or advanced students of veterinary medicine or animal care or conservation, preferably with some experience with wildlife. While you will be assisting with the care of various species of confiscated animals, cheetahs will be your main focus. As such, we are attaching the CCF’s Cheetah Volunteer Guide, which we hope you will read carefully and find useful during your stay.
